GKR Improves Facilities for the Force

South Wales Maintenance Service Provider, GKR Maintenance and Building Co. Ltd, (GKR) has recently secured a two-year contract with Gwent Police to complete reactive and planned building maintenance on their police facilities and estate.  The £100,000 a year project will involve making valuable improvements and ongoing building maintenance to all Gwent Police properties, including providing a 24-365 call out service.  GKR commenced the contract on 10th May 2010.

GKR has also recently been awarded with the Investors in People Award (IiP) and has a strong history working with high profile clients.  To date, the Caerphilly-based maintenance and building company has long term partnering arrangements withWalesand West Housing Association, Monmouth and Torfaen Councils, Boots, Pizza Hut, Mothercare and Arcadia Group.

GKR aims to bring its expertise in building maintenance to Gwent Police and hopes this project will improve working conditions for officers and an enhanced police service for local residents.  Community has always been at the heart of GKR’s work ethic, and the company strives to offer the best possible service to its clients.  The maintenance service provider has also recently won a prestigious Leadership & People Development Award at the 2010 Constructing Excellence in Wales (CEW) Awards, held on Friday 2nd July at the SWALEC Stadium.  GKR now progresses to the national final to be held later this year.
