Jane Hutt, the Welsh Government Minister for Finance, recently visited the home of Wales & West Housing Association residents Mr & Mrs Dixon. GKR Maintenance recently completed adaptation works to their bathroom and driveway. Mr & Mrs Dixon both have health problems and have benefitted from a Welsh Government funded Physical Adaptation Grant.

Mrs Dixon, who underwent surgery for lung cancer said: “Before this work was carried out it was really difficult for me to bathe in our old bathroom. Now, with our new walk in shower with a seat, it is heaven."I don't need any help at all and it looks fantastic. And the men who did the work were brilliant.”

As well as the adapting the bathroom, the P.A.G. also funded alterations to their driveway. Mr Dixon said: “What you have done has been life-transforming. We can now live our lives as we would want to, which we would not have been able to do without this grant and these very prompt works."

GKR Maintenance & Building Co Ltd currently carry out over 200 physical adaptations a year for local authorities and housing associations.
